What is Sunderland Literature Festival 2023?
Sunderland Literature Festival 2023 brings together a vibrant mix of poets, authors, and artists. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to celebrate your love of literature, see your favourite local authors, and of course, discover new writers, filmmakers, and illustrators. Sunderland City Council are delighted that lecturers from Sunderland University are once again contributing to the festival.
The festival presents established voices in crime and fiction, alongside rising stars and self-published authors looking to raise the profile of their work. It aims to unite readers of all ages to celebrate the written and spoken word and has developed a stimulating and diverse range of events including talks, workshops, and competitions.

All of the events are free, and you are encouraged to take advantage of this celebration of libraries and literature by joining in as many activities as possible.
Sunderland Libraries are busy as ever behind the scenes, working towards upgrading their digital infrastructure; improving our self-service model to enhance user experience and very shortly they will be sharing our brand-new library website that will completely revitalise the library offer within Sunderland.
