What is the British Red Cross?

The British Red Cross has been helping millions of people in the UK and around the world get the support they need when crisis strikes. As well as or International services, here in the UK they provide practical, local and emotional support to people around the UK. Services include:

Free training and education workshops

Group workshops

Face-to-face sessions of the British Red Cross Community Education workshops allow their educators to work in person with groups in the community. Covering humanitarian, first aid and wellbeing topics, the workshops aim to support personal development and build resilience. The face-to-face session involves one of the British Red Cross educators travelling to meet a group at their chosen location and delivering the workshop in person. During the session the group will take part in activities and there will be a chance to discuss the topic together.

They also offer free teaching and learning resources to help enrich national curriculum subjects, like PSHE and citizenship, and connect human crisis with human kindness as well as free educational workshops cover a range of topics, including:

  • First Aid (youth and adult)
  • Empathy plus Migration (youth)
  • Coping with Challenges (youth)
  • Adapt and Recover (adult)
  • Supporting Connections (adult)

Individual spaces on workshops

The British Red Cross do also offer spaces for individuals on their online training workshops. The British Red Cross designed these free, educational workshops to help you learn vital life skills and build resilience. We cover a range of wellbeing and humanitarian topics and our training workshops can range from creative problem-solving to practical first aid training.
