Employment Vacancy – Community Development Worker
Job Title: Community Development Worker
Hours:Â Initially 21 hours across 4 days, may increase to 28 hours
Salary: £20,000 – 22,000 pro rata
Contract: initially 12 months
Accountable to:Â Â Community Development Manager
Location: South Tyneside
ACTS are looking for a passionate and committed person to help lead work which will make a real difference to the loneliness and social isolation experienced by older people on South Tyneside.
The Community Development Worker will initiate and facilitate a programme of community engagement, build community capacity and work with older people targeting small communities in South Tyneside to address isolation, loneliness and inactivity through community participation. They will take the lead from older people in their areas to identify and establish activities and maximise individual client income by establishing information and advice outreach sessions in local neighbourhoods.
