Lightning Reach is a financial support portal which makes it easy for people to find and apply for a wide range of personalised support in one place. You can apply for support from over 2500 support schemes including grants, benefits, help with bills and other vital resources, including Sunderland City Council’s Community Care Support.

What support can I get from Sunderland City Council?

Sunderland City Council may be able to help if you’re struggling to afford essential household items. Through its Local Welfare Provision, you could get support with things like basic furniture or white goods such as a fridge or washing machine. What support you receive depends on your personal situation and household needs, and the council decides how that help is provided.
