New Free Courses with Sunderland Recovery College

Sunderland Recovery College are offering a range of free recovery focused educational courses for people with lived mental health experience, their friends and family. Their new prospectus starting in January 2019 is available now!

New courses include:

  • Mindfulness
  • Self-Awareness
  • Tai Chi
  • From addiction to recovery
  • Living with psychosis
  • Finance and budgeting
  • Managing my anger
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Relaxation and meditation
  • Cooking on a budget
  • And many more…

They are also delivering several new courses in partnership with other organisations:

  • Sleep good, feel good
  • Emotional resilience
  • Ceramics and mosaics
  • And more!

They are also offering courses in several different venues across the City of Sunderland so that you can access courses on your doorstep. Venues include; Houghton Methodist Church, Washington Millennium Centre, Houghton-le-Spring Primary Care Centre and more, make sure to check on the prospectus where the course you are interested in is taking place to see if it is available in your area.

How to attend the courses

If you wish to attend a course or courses, you will first need to enroll with the Recovery College. Please pop along to one of their enrolment days at Fulwell Resource Centre between 10am and 3:30pm:

  • Monday 14th January 2019
  • Wednesday 16th January 2019
  • Friday 18th January 2019

They are also offering enrolment sessions at their partner venues across the City so that you can access a local venue:

  • Friday 18th January 2019 at Houghton-Le-Spring Primary Care Centre between 10am-12pm
  • Friday 18th January 2019 at Washington Millennium Centre between 1pm-3pm
