One of the difficulties for people using any type of service, are the words (or jargon) used by those who work in them. We often use acronyms – words formed from initial letters – and terms that only make sense to those of us ‘in the know’.
The following lists are a small sample of some of the terms, letters (acronyms) you might hear us talk about and an explanation of the roles of some of the health professionals you may come into contact with.
