What is the Health Champion Programme

The Health Champion programme aims to develop community leadership skills with a range of FREE courses; so that passionate individuals can make a difference to health in their work, community and social networks. Read more from Live Life Well here!

What are the Health Champion Networks?

The networks are across Sunderland: Washington, The Coalfields, The West, The North and The East. The aim of the networks is to get current Health Champions together to share ideas and information, hear about up-and-coming health campaigns which they can share in their work places, friends, family and across the wider community. We also need to recruit new Health Champions to help us to reach a wider community, so if you are thinking of joining the programme please come along to the next network to get more information and to sign up.

If you would like to sign up now please contact Jemma on 0191 4178043 or jemma@washingtonmind.org.uk or download a registration form here.

Online Health Champions Network

You can now get involved with the networks online by joining our Facebook group. The group enables Health Champions (and those who are currently taking part in the training programme) to quickly share health information so that even if you can’t make it to the next network you can still find out what is happening in Sunderland.

December Celebration Event

Thank you to all of the champions who attended the celebration event in December, we had over 60 people who came along and we have received some great feedback. We managed to get some great photos of everyone. Look out for more information on our next Celebration event in June, we would love to say thank you to you all for all of your hard work throughout the year.
