What is the Health Champion Programme
The Health Champion programme aims to develop community leadership skills with a range of FREE courses; so that passionate individuals can make a difference to health in their work, community and social networks. Read more from Live Life Well here!
What are the Health Champion Networks?
The networks are across Sunderland: Washington, The Coalfields, The West, The North and The East. The aim of the networks is to get current Health Champions together to share ideas and information, hear about up-and-coming health campaigns which they can share in their work places, friends, family and across the wider community. We also need to recruit new Health Champions to help us to reach a wider community, so if you are thinking of joining the programme please come along to the next network to get more information and to sign up.
Online Health Champions Network
You can now get involved with the networks online by joining our Facebook group. The group enables Health Champions (and those who are currently taking part in the training programme) to quickly share health information so that even if you can’t make it to the next network you can still find out what is happening in Sunderland.
Thank you to all of the champions who attended the celebration event in December, we had over 60 people who came along and we have received some great feedback.
We now have the date for our next celebration event which will be at the National Glass Centre on the Friday 22nd June with a 12pm start.
Next Health Champions Network
Join us at Pallion Action on Tuesday 10th April at 2pm, where Kathy from Washington Mind will be there to look at the stigma around Mental Health, what stops people from accessing support and how we can challenge and break the stigma. If you have any friends, family or work colleagues who would be interested in becoming a Health Champion please bring them along. Refreshments will be provided. Click here to download the flyer.
If you have any questions or to RSVP to the event, Please contact Washington Mind on 0191 417 8043 or email email@example.com
